The Story of Walls With A Story
Walls With A Story is a division of Smoky Mountain Vintage Lumber. Chief Nail Puller, Andrew Edens, founded Smoky Mountain Vintage Lumber in East Tennessee in 2012 with the intent of making barnwood and reclaimed wood planks more readily available for personal and commercial construction projects in the Great Smoky Mountains region. Walls With A Story was formed in 2016 specifically to provide anyone in the United States with affordable genuine reclaimed wood planks for use in DIY accent walls and other decorative projects. Walls With A Story sells and ships a variety of barnwood and reclaimed wood accent wall covering materials and wainscoting nationwide with free shipping.
Walls With A Story is an eco-friendly company based in Knoxville, TN, which searches out unique, century-old barns and interesting historic buildings in the Great Smoky Mountain region and recycles the wood materials used to build them into genuine reclaimed wood planks for use in home and other DIY wood projects.
Reclaimed wood is popular for many reasons: the wood’s unique appearance, its contribution to green building or LEED certification, the history of the wood’s origins and the wood’s physical quality characteristics such as strength, stability and durability. The increased strength of reclaimed wood is often attributed to the lack of air pollution that existed up until the 20th century as well as the wood often being harvested from old growth timber, which had hundreds of years to grow before man touched them.
At Walls With A Story, we believe in doing wood projects right and providing quality reclaimed wood materials that anyone can afford! We take great pride in preserving the stories of the structures from which we get our reclaimed wood. By conducting interviews, gathering backstories when possible, and photographing the existing structures, we can really get a feel of what the life of the barn or building was really like. And by doing so, our customers not only receive the highest quality reclaimed wood for their projects, but also an instant conversation piece! The reputation of our barnwood and reclaimed wood wall covering materials and wainscoting means more to us than money, and we stand behind our products. If you’re not completely happy with any accent wood product purchased from Walls With A Story, we’ll refund your purchase! At Walls With A Story, we want our customers to build DIY wood projects to the highest standard, our own!
Build your reclaimed wood project with quality, vintage conversation pieces constructed of barnwood and reclaimed wood lumber sourced from the Great Smoky Mountain region!
